People with hearing impairments
An induction loop is installed in the opera house. If a hearing aid has a T-coil, it can directly receive the sound signal picked up on stage and thus avoid possible feedback. To do so, switch your hearing aid to receive mode.
People with physical disabilities
In each performance in the main auditorium, four wheelchair spaces are available in the stalls in seating category 4. Accompanying persons receive a 50% discount. In addition, there is an offer of two wheelchair seats in the parquet galery in seat category 2, where accompanying persons have the choice of seats in seat categories 2 to 4. Please book your tickets in advance by telephone or in person at the ticket office.
Access to the Opernhaus Zürich and the Restaurant Lulu is accessible by the entrance of the ticket office. In the opera house, all floors can be reached by the passenger lift, there are no thresholds and obstacles on the individual levels. The wardrobes can only be reached by stairs. Please contact the opera house staff to deliver your jacket to the wardrobe. The toilets for people with disabilities on the ground floor are also equipped for wheelchair users.
There are occasional performances on the Studiobühne. The Studiobühne is located on the third floor and can only be reached via a staircase. There is unfortunately no lift. For reasons of safety, wheelchair users can not visit the performances on the Studiobühne.
How to get there
Cars are allowed to enter and exit the Schillerstrasse (between the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and the Opernhaus Zürich). From there the Box office can be reached in about 100 meters above the Sechseläutenplatz. Marked disabled parking spaces are available in the Opéra car park, from where a passenger lift leads to the hall of the ticket office.
